Feed one tub per 20 head of cattle, 10 head of horses or 30 head of goats. Cattle and horses should consume 1 to 2 pounds per head per day. Goats should consume 1 to 5 ounces per head per day. If animals consume more or less than the desired amount, reposition the tubs to achieve the proper consumption. Provide a continuous supply of clean, fresh water and all the roughages the animals will eat. Factors affecting consumption are variations in forage quality and availability of such forages. In addition, the nutritional needs of the cattle, horses and goats must be balanced. After the initial adjustment period of 7 to 10 days, from tub introduction, average consumption for cattle and horses will be 1 to 2 pounds per head per day, and 1 to 5 ounces for goats, with consistent forage.
