PYthon® II MagnuM Insecticide Cattle Ear Tags are sustained-release insecticide tags designed for use on beef and dairy cattle, including lactating animals. The tags are formulated with a synergized pyrethroid system to provide control of horn flies and lice, along with aiding in the control of additional nuisance flies.
The active ingredients are impregnated within the plastic of the tag and are released over time through contact with the animal’s hair and skin. This sustained-release mechanism provides continuous insecticide delivery, supporting long-lasting control throughout the treatment period.
Designed to control most strains of horn flies, including those that may show resistance to other insecticide classes. When applied as directed, one tag per animal provides effective horn fly control and aids in the control of face flies, stable flies and house flies for up to approximately four months.
In addition to fly control, the tags control biting lice and aid in the control of sucking lice, supporting herd comfort and helping reduce irritation associated with external parasites.
The tag design includes features intended to support durability and retention, allowing the product to remain in place during the fly season. PYthon II MagnuM ear tags are commonly used as part of integrated pest management programs, including rotation with other insecticide classes to help manage resistance.
